    BRENTWOOD RECREATION TRIP

    The Brook- Sports betting & Casino

    When: Thursday, April 6th (10am-3pm)

    Where: The Brook located at 319 New Zealand Rd, Seabrook NH 03874. Lunch will be at the 99 Restaurant (lunch is optional)

    Price: $20 per person.

    Other Details: Join us for a fun day of table games, poker, casino games, and more at the Brook! Lunch is not included. Lunch will be at the 99 Restaurant (lunch is optional and participants may stay at the casino) The Recreation Van will depart from the Brentwood Recreation Center at 9:30am and will plan to return by 3:30pm

    ABOUT THE TRAILS

    The Brentwood trail system is mostly comprised of old trails and roads found on town owned land and private properties. The trails are maintained by the Brentwood Trails Committee, landowners, participants, and volunteers. To view trail maps please follow links listed below.

    BRENTWOOD TRAILS COMMITTEE

    The Brentwood Trails Committee is consisted of 1 to 5 persons that falls under the Recreation Department. The Brentwood Trails Committee also works closely with the Brentwood Conservation Commission. When there is at least 3 members on the committee there will be monthly meetings to discuss; future plans, maintenance, volunteers, fundraisers, trail improvements and much more! If you are interested in joining the Brentwood Trails Committee please reach out to brentwoodtrails@aol.com or contact the Brentwood Recreation Department.

    BRENTWOOD YOUTH CRICKET




    Brentwood Recreation will be offering Cricket & to introduce the growing sport to the Seacoast region! The program will be structured to introduce the fundamentals for the game of cricket and build on existing skills. This is an “in-house” program that focuses on enjoyment of the game, skill development, and learning the rules during this 8 week period.





    What is Cricket?

    Cricket is a safe and fun sport that that uses a bat & ball that is played by two teams of 11 players each on a field at the center of the pitch. Cricket is mostly played in England, Australia, South Africa, India, and a host of other commonwealth nations. Cricket has been played in the United States since the 18th century and has been one of the fastest growing sports in the USA!

    SENIOR PROGRAMS & EVENTS




    SENIOR CENTER:

    Come on down and check out the new Brentwood Recreation Senior Center. The Brentwood Senior Center is open to residents and non-residents on Tuesdays from 9:30am-12:00pm.  You will be able to socialize, have coffee, ceramics, take out books, and much more!!! So come on down and see what we have to offer and please leave any recommendations as the Brentwood Recreation Department will continue to build off of the Senior Center based off of your feedback!

    SENIOR LUNCHEONS:

    Next luncheon is Wednesday, March 22nd, located at the Brentwood Community Center arrival at 11am followed by entertainment at 11:30am, and ending with lunch between 12pm-12:30pm with a social hour after lunch.  Lunch theme-St. Patrick Days (corn beef & cabbage), Rec will offer coffee & other drinks, SST Students will provide main meal & salad, all other side dishes, appetizers and dessert will be pot luck. 

    Residents & Non Residents are both invited to attend!!!

           Entertainment- Robin Shelgren- Ireland "learning through the ages"

    BRENTWOOD FIELD CLEAN UP DAY & REC YARD SALE






      
    To all Brentwood Residents!!! Please join Brentwood Recreation for a field Clean-Up event on Saturday, April 1st from 9am-12pm. You can pick up free trash bags at the recreation office prior to the event or pick them up on April 1st at the pavilion at the Brentwood Recreation Center. If you have have any questions please contact the recreation office.  




    During field clean up residents & participants can visit the community center for its yard sale. Items like soccer balls, nets, bats, and other sporting equipment will be sold at $1, $3, $5, or $10 per item. Please contact the recreation office with any questions. 


    Rain Date is scheduled for Saturday, April 1st from 9am-12pm if needed.

    Brentwood softball will now be apart of the Exeter Junior Softball league. Please read below for information. There is a link below to register for the upcoming 2023 season


    2023 Spring Registration

    Registration is open to players 5-16 years of age in the SAU 16 area.

    Player's age as of December 31st, 2022

    6U: 5 & 6 years old

    8U: 7 & 8 years old

    10U: 9 & 10 years old

    12U: 11 & 12 years old

    14U: 13 & 14 years old

    16U: 15 & 16 years old

    REC TRIP - NEW HAMPSHIRE HISTORICAL SOCIETY MUESEUM


    Where: New Hampshire Historical Society Museum. (Van Leaves promptly at 10am from the Brentwood Recreation Community Center- 190 NH-125, Brentwood, NH 03833)


    When: Thursday, June 1st 2023 


    Tour: One hour tour begins at 11am lunch at the Common Man at 12:30 including your choice from the luncheon menu. Van will return to the BRC after lunch.


    Price: $50 per person (limited to 14 seats- 4 seats left)

    April Vacation Camp

    Join us for some a week filled with friends, activities, and fun! Activities include (but not limited to): Outdoor Games and Activities, Arts and Crafts, Movies, and more!!!

    Dates: April 24th - April 28th

    Location: Brentwood Community Center

    Counselors: All of our counselors are First Aid & CPR Certified, some have more than 3 years of experience working with children. There will always be 2-3 counselors working and we will have some of our summer camp counselors back!!!


    Cost:

    • Resident & Non-Resident- $200


      Grades: Kindergarten - 6th


      Times:

      • Camp: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm

      *If your child has any medications, or you have any concerns please visit or contact the Brentwood Recreation Office.

      Join us for a summer filled with friends, activities, and fun in the sun!


      Resident & Returning campers registration is now open


      Non-Resident registration opens Monday, March 1st

       

      Dates: June 26 - August 18 (8 weeks) *NO CAMP ON MONDAY, JULY 4TH 


      TimesCamp day 9:00am-4:00pm. Before Care 7:30am-9am. After Care: 4:00pm-5:30pm. ***Note: Before & After Care is additional fee***


      Location: Brentwood Recreation Complex.


      Grades: FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER TEEN CAMP IS OFFERED!!!

      -Youth Camp- Children entering grades 1st-5th (2023-2024 school year)

      -Teen Camp- Children entering grades 6th-8th (2023-2024 school year)




      Registration:  You can register online along with the $100 deposit to hold your spot in camp. This is for weekly or full summer participants only. All other payments must be paid at the recreation office by Thursday, June 1st. (spots are limited & rates increase after June 1st)

      - No single day registrations this year

      - You can register for 1-3 single weeks, half summer package (4 weeks), or for the full summer package (8 weeks)



      Activities:  Include water & non water games, arts & crafts, team building activities fields trips, magic shows, and much more!


      Field Trips: Trips & Trip Package TBA. 

      - Examples of Youth Camp Trips- Fisher Cats Baseball, Kingston & Pawtuckaway State Parks, Bowling, Mini Golf, Movies, etc...

      Adult Pick-up Pickleball 

      Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30pm.


       Adult Pickleball will be offered again in the gym at the Swasey Elementary School Gym (masks required). No experiences is necessary! Rec. Dept. will provide paddles if you do not have one. This is a low-impact, easy to learn, and extremely fun sport to play, at any age! Pickleball is a combination of tennis, badminton, and racquet ball. You can play singles, but is mostly played in doubles. Come try it out! No registration fee.

      Yoga Movement for Seniors!

       

      Join us at the Brentwood Community Center Tuesday mornings for this FREE class! This gentle movement class helps seniors improve range of motion, flexibility, balance, and will help relieve your aches and pains, all in the comfort of a chair. No experience necessary. This is a great social activity too! Classes are 10am-10:45am

      TANG SOO DO CLASSES

      Tang Soo Do is a Korean Martial Art comprised of both hard and soft techniques. It emphasizes whole body physical training. It’s beneficial for self-discipline, self-defense and health.

      Classes are available Monday and Friday at the Brentwood Community Center.

       

      Classes are taught by Retired Law Enforcement office Bob Meegan. He is currently a 4th degree Black Belt with the World Tang Soo Do Association and recently recognized by the association  for his 35 years as an instructor.

       

      6:30-8:00pm  

      Enrollment is continual,

      so you may begin at any point.

      Cost:  $70/single/mo.    $120/family/mo. (2 or more)

      Day & Time TBA. Meeting located at the Brentwood Community Center Basement


      Farm Baseball ***UPDATE*** All Farm players will need to sign up through EJBSL Baseball. KYAA League has moved to EJBSL. 

      T-Ball will play only in Brentwood & play some games against Exeter & other surrounding town's T-Ball teams. 



      TBALL: Saturdays only & practices will be at the lower baseball field.




      Farm Baseball:  ***UPDATE*** All Farm players will need to sign up through EJBSL Baseball. KYAA League has moved to EJBSL.

       Egg Hunt and Bunny Breakfast

      Saturday, April 8 2023

      The Recreation Department will be hosting our Annual Bunny Breakfast and Town Egg Hunt at the Brentwood Community Center on Route 125.



      The Egg Hunt will start promptly at 9:00am

      Breakfast will run 9:00-10:00am (breakfast will be offered during and after egg hunt)

      Breakfast Cost: No cost, Donations gladly accepted 




      The Easter Bunny will be there to visit with kids and parents are welcome to bring their cameras and take pictures.
